A member of Labour's ruling executive committee accused Suella Braverman of being on a "personal driven mission to be the most racist brown person in UK politics".
In comments set to cause outrage at the Labour Party's annual conference in Liverpool, Mish Rahman said that the Home Secretary appeared to be seeking "far-right acceptance" with her language on migrants.
Rahman was appointed to the party's national executive committee (NEC) in December 2022, giving him an influential say on the governance of Labour.
Speaking today, he said: "Her dog-whistles are now replaced by pure incitement.

"It’s like she is on some sort of personal driven mission to be the most racist brown person in UK politics in a personal quest for far-right acceptance."
Rahman was speaking at a fringe event on "fighting the Tories’ racist offensive" at the Labour conference when he made the comments.
He continued: "At the front line of these attempts is this home secretary Suella Braverman who regularly warns us of these migrant ‘invasions’ and regularly promotes conspiracy theories suggesting that shadowy ruthless elites are pushing a programme of progressive politics designed to undermine Western democracies."
His remarks come off the back of a speech made by Braverman at the Conservative Party Conference last week on immigration.

PAThe Home Secretary warned of a "hurricane" of migrants coming to the UK as she vowed to do "whatever it takes to stop the boats and deter bogus asylum seekers".
"The wind of change that carried my own parents across the globe in the 20th Century was a mere gust compared to the hurricane that is coming," she said.
She added that past Governments had been "too squeamish about being smeared as racist" to tackle the problem head on.
As well as sitting on the NEC, Raham is also a vice-chairman of the grassroots organisation Momentum.
The body was formed in 2015 in order to help Jeremy Corbyn be elected as leader and now campaigns for the party to push more socialist policies.
Despite his role in the governance of Labour, the party's head office have refused to allow Rahman to stand as an MP.
